Direction of Intention

Hello, strangers!  As you have probably gathered, I'm not great about posting here.  Not only is blogging a relatively new experience for me, but I've also been a bit busy since I first started this blog.  Winding things down at work, moving to my parents' house, and preparing for Georgetown (socially and practically) have kept me on the go this summer.  Thanks for being such patient blog readers! :)

What to say, what to say...  Well, in the spirit of just starting somewhere, a number of people have asked me the meaning behind the title I chose for this blog.  It comes from St. Francis de Sales' "Direction of Intention", a simple prayer meant to focus oneself on God.  I learned it in high school and we prayed it at the start of most of my classes at Ireton.  There are a few different translations out there, but this is the version I learned and continue to pray:
My God, I give you this day.  I offer you now all the good that I shall do, and I promise to accept, for love of You, all the difficulty I shall meet.  Please help me conduct myself in a manner pleasing to you.  May God be praised!
I say this prayer every morning before crawling out of bed.  It really helps to remind me of what's most important and Who it is that I'm serving each day, through all my actions - large and small.  The fruit of it has been pretty incredible - give it a try!  (...and buckle up!)
